Protolith age and metamorphic temperature of the Yokokawagawa metamorphic rocks in Nagano Prefecture, central Japan, and comparison with the Sanbagawa metamorphic rocks

We estimated the protolith age and peak metamorphic temperature of Yokokawagawa rocks (YMR) east Itoigawa–Shizuoka Tectonic Line using detrital zircon U–Pb dating Raman carbonaceous material geothermometry, respectively. a psammitic rock yielded youngest ∼100 Ma, which corresponds to age. geothermometry results for five pelitic samples give temperatures ∼350–380 °C. The is consistent with those Sanbagawa (SMR), strongly indicating that YMR are an extension SMR. increase in toward intrusive along eastern margin may indicate relatively young ages by previous K–Ar reflect thermal resetting due contact metamorphism.
